Calvin Coolidge

This oil on canvas portrait of Calvin Coolidge was painted by Charles S. Hopkinson. Hopkinson was an award-winning painter who studied in New York, Paris, and Spain. Coolidge had served as governor of Massachusetts before becoming Warren G. Harding's vice president. Coolidge became president after Harding died in office and was then elected in his own right in 1924. He left office on March 4, 1929.
